YOON and LEE HI will pre-release the special track for the upcoming movie ‘Golden Slumber’, which is a cover of ‘Golden Slumbers’ originally performed by The Beatles.
Today (18th) at noon, the special track from the OST of Golden Slumber performed by YOON and LEE HI will be pre-released.
‘Golden Slumber’ is a movie about a man’s getaway after he is pointed out as a culprit of a presidential candidate assassination, which took place in Gwanghwamoon. Since the movie stars Gang Dong Won, Kim Ui Seong, Han Hyo Joo, Kim Sung Kyun, and Kim Dae Myung, the golden casting received a lot of attention. Prior to the first premiere of the movie which will take place during the lunar new year holidays, they will reveal special tracks which are YOON and LEE HI’s re-interpretation of ‘Golden Slumbers’ originally performed by The Beatles, which will raise anticipation for the movie.
The song ‘Golden Slumbers’ which also inspired the title of the movie is a song from the album ‘Abbey Road’ released in 1969, right before The Beatles broke up. It’s a song composed by Paul McCartney for the members, and is loved by the world to this day.
The special track from the ‘Golden Slumber’ OST will contain two songs, a version by YOON who is a lead vocal in group WINNER who is known for their powerful but emotional voice tone, and a version by LEE HI, who is known for moving the listener’s heart with her soulful and thick voice.
YOON stated, “When I had the opportunity to sing ‘Golden Slumbers’, I really wanted to participate and felt glad when I sang the OST”. He added, “Golden Slumbers is a song that has the feeling of mightily talking to someone, and a song that comforts me”, displaying his special affections on the song. LEE HI stated, “It was an honor to participate in the OST. I will definitely watch the movie in theaters”.
